New titles are being added to the library's collection of vintage Hollywood movies. These movies are not only a part of our collective cultural heritage , but also give insight into the times in which they were made. In a sense then, they can be approached from a historical point of view: How did people talk in the 1920s,1930s or 1940s; what were their homes like; what were their societal values; what in society or material goods has changed or stayed the same? Of course, these films also reflect Hollywood's perspective, but they also reflect, in many cases, the experiences of the creative talents who contributed to their making. To be sure, the movies can be enjoyed for their story lines or for the wonderful stars who brought them to life, but they can also be enjoyed for allowing the viewer to revisit a time in history that is long past.
