Good Writing - Take a Chance on these Aspiring Authors

The Whiting Prize for Writers was awarded in New York. This award goes to unknown, but excellent writers. The following writers were among the winners...Michael Dahlie (A Gentleman's Guide to Graceful Living), Rattawut Lapcharoensap (Sightseeing) and Lydia Peelle (Reasons for and Advantages of Breathing); Elif Batuman (The Possessed), and Said Sayrafiezadeh (When Skateboards Will Be Free). Check out their books. If we don;t own them, we can get them.

Cooking Demo with Matthew from Matthews


Chef Matthew expertly created "the perfect Ceasar Salad" for a packed house full of library patrons and cooking enthusiasts. Everyone got to taste the special salad dressing and salad and learned tips about olive oil and lettuce preparation.

Dividing the DVD collection

Our collection is rapidly approaching 10,000 DVDs. In order to make browsing easier and searching for a specific title quicker, we are dividing the DVD collection into the following categories. the physical separation will take place next week, after 10/18/10.

Foreign Language Films
Classic Films (in the lobby)
Family Films (mostly G & PG)
Drama Films
Action/Adventure Films
Comedy Films
TV Series
Nonfiction Films

We will also be rolling our Horror and Anime films in the next couple weeks.
